The school system:

The school year runs from January to December with two short vacations in May and September and a month and half in Dec-Jan. The students come to us after seven years of elementary education and they stay in high school for six years.

The high school is divided up into two parts:
Ordinary level, which takes the first four years and then a National examination, is taken for entry to the Advanced level, which is of two years. These last two years of “A” level prepare the students for University/ College. Some high schools have only the Ordinary level, however, ours has both.

While at school, the students are kept very busy. In the first two years of high school, the students are kept very busy. In the first two years of high school, the students are expected to take all the courses/subjects offered and these range from 13-21. In our school we offer 18 in the first two years. When the students get to the third to fourth year, they take a minimum of 8-10 subjects. In the 5th and 6th year they specialize in 3-5 subjects.

All high schools in Uganda offer Art and Science subjects and English Language but practical skill are optional. It is therefore, the practical skills we offer in addition which make our school Unique. Practical skills are a great attraction to many students.

The girls who go through our school, are well equipped with an all round education and they become self reliant even when they drop out of school, which is very common among girls.

Extra-Curricular Activities:

At this school, game like netball, volleyball, athletics, chess, etc.. are part and parcel; of all round education given to the students. To enhance the Spiritual moral and social aspects of the students, several clubs are in place and these include: Young Christian Students’ club, Youth alive club, AIDS challenge to the Youth club, debating, girl-guides and music, dance and drama.
